A downloadable Innovative Walking Sim

We tend to underplay the traumatic experiences we go through each and every day. Stacked atop one another in an apartment complex, three characters must navigate their twenty-four hours of trauma, all displayed to you at once. When life hits you with a challenge to overcome and feelings to face, it's always helpful to know your neighbor!

What is Know Your Neighbor?

Know Your Neighbor is an innovative narrative-driven walking simulator where experiencing trauma is just as overwhelming as you'd imagine. Explore a twenty-four hour snapshot of three characters' lives, all playing out in front of you at the exact same time. Know Your Neighbor is designed to be played by rotating one's monitor vertically, so that you can peer into the apartment complex these characters live in. That being said, the game is still playable in horizontal mode via settings. The game aims to showcase the importance of its namesake—knowing the people around you well enough to seek help when you may or may not know you need it!

The public access demo of Know Your Neighbor releases Wednesday, May 15!

Know Your Neighbor Features:

  • Gameplay designed in four stages—modeled after a twenty-four hour cycle
  • Deep, emotional storytelling for three separate characters, including a schizophrenic fashion designer who must face her PTSD head-on, an orphaned child using his creativity to find whimsy in life, and a person who, after breaking up with their partner, must face the issues that plagued their relationship
  • Gameboy-inspired sprite design, including a limited 4-color palette for each character
  • Character interactions that converge screens, changing color palettes from primary to secondary colors
  • A unique way to play by rotating one's monitor vertically, or enjoy the game in a traditional horizontal format
