Ice Cream for Eight Dollars

This project has been published per accordance of the Queer Games Bundle 2025 rules. However, I am still in development for this project until mid-late April. Feel free to check out the prototype, yet keep in mind there is a lot left to uncover!

Ice cream is eight dollars. Yet the children of midwest America don't care—they want their delicious cold sweet treat! Better not leave the parlor for any reason, there's minimum wage work to be done.

Every Scoop Counts!

Ice Cream for Eight Dollars is a simple vibrant clicker where you are tasked with serving children the ice cream they desire. Every child approaches your parlor with one thing in mind: what ice cream they want. Click on the correct flavor, and they'll leave happy.

As an essential minimum wage worker, maintaining happiness is integral to your job. Keep your happiness afloat, and don't get too upset if you screw up a few orders!

Oh, and stay focused. You have one job: serve ice cream. Never leave the confines of this adorable parlor.

Spoiler (Narrative Intention)

The intent behind gameplay is to display a dichotomy between a happy-go-lucky, kid-friendly ice cream parlor and an intense situation that occurs only via audio, presumably just outside.

Spoiler (Level 1)

This game contains audio that depicts a hate crime targeting a member of the trans community. The audio begins playing a few minutes into gameplay, seemingly out of nowhere.

Spoiler (Level 2)

The audio clip that plays contains hate speech and uncomfortable language. The perpetrator of the attack uses slurs that attack the LGBTQ+ community. Additionally, the perpetrator attempts a sexual advance on the victim.

Spoiler (The End)

In a secret, true ending of the game, the player character attempts to remedy the situation by destroying Earth and replacing it with an imaginative utopia where them and their coworker can feel safe.
