After a sudden, catastrophic, world-ending event on Earth, a mysterious little creature emerges in a state of extreme confusion and loss. They are in search of answers, whether that be a sign of life, food, water, shelter—anything to take their mind off of the horrors of reality. But when voices from a world beyond begin to communicate, they must journey across the unfamiliar, yet familiar landscape in search of hope.
What is In Search Of?
In Search Of is a tabletop roleplaying game filled with poetic descriptions of an unsettling post-apocalyptic reality. Inspired by the writing style of James Baldwin and similar TTRPGs by A Thousand Thousand Islands, this story is dedicated to my late Grandmother and all those around the world who must grapple with the inevitability of loss. In Search Of can be enjoyed either as prose or the basis to a playable TTRPG. In this world filled with questions, it is your choice whether or not you search for answers!
